It was my privilege the past 2 weeks to view 200 miles of the NW Greenland coastline just as the early explorers did - unchanged and majestic, lined with coastal mountains that without a doubt have never had a human set foot on them. We viewed this from dog sledges driven by descendants of the same people who befriended Henson and Peary and in fact, Ussarqak Henson, Tukumaq Peary and Naimanggitsak (Peary) Kristiansen were in our group for the entire ten days on the ice. It was if the calendar had been turned back 100 years.
